PATIENT STORIES, TOLD WITH CARE

Lived-experience and patient stories help health organisations build trust in ways other communications can’t. For private healthcare providers, health charities, pharma and the NHS, patient storytelling shows patients, families and communities that you understand what matters to them – not just clinically, but emotionally and practically too. Done well, it demonstrates empathy, reduces distance between services and the people they support, and creates resources that are honest, useful and human.

We help clients tell these stories carefully and responsibly – through film, written content, audio, campaigns and training materials – drawing out authenticity while protecting the people involved. Our work helps healthcare organisations connect with patients and build meaningful, trusting relationships.

Why stories matter

Clinical information often needs human context to land effectively. Real patient stories help people make sense of what they’re experiencing, feel less alone, prepare for conversations, and understand what support might look like in everyday life. For healthcare providers, charities and pharma brands, lived-experience storytelling creates more empathetic connections with patients and service users, building confidence, reassurance and trust around treatments, services and support.

Why the process matters

Asking someone to share a personal health, mental health, neurodivergence or recovery story carries real responsibility, whether the output is a film, article, podcast, campaign or internal training resource. Contributors need to feel safe, respected and in control. We bring the experience, judgement and structure needed to manage interviews, consent, messaging, safeguarding considerations, approvals and production environments with care, from start to finish.

Sector specialists

We understand the worlds our clients work in: NHS pathways, private healthcare, pharma communications, public health services, charities, commissioners, clinical teams and people with varied or vulnerable needs. We help navigate that complexity to deliver content that’s clear, human and useful. Our work in this space includes patient and lived-experience storytelling for Clinical Partners, MindMate and Kent County Council’s drug and alcohol service.

What the work achieves

The best patient stories do more than raise awareness. They help people feel seen, reduce stigma, explain services, support behaviour change and strengthen relationships between organisations and the people they serve. They can also work hard across multiple settings – from websites, campaigns and social content to clinician resources, induction materials, training modules and internal learning – giving organisations a bank of authentic content with long-term value.

If you value creative innovation that’s good for business, for people and communities, we should talk.
