A couple of weeks ago we said goodbye to Daisy Schwarzer, our final intern of the summer. Earlier in the year we also welcomed back James Morris (who joined us briefly last year) along with Jessica Pilkington. It’s been a real pleasure having three talented, emerging designers spend time with us in the studio.
We’ve learnt a lot from this year’s interns, particularly around how design education has been evolving. In return, we wanted to give them a broad experience, building technical know-how as well as softer skills and involving them in client meetings and real-life project work. Since their time with us, both James and Jess have already gone on to secure junior roles with other studios, which we’re delighted to see.
Championing new creative talent from universities and colleges across the north has always been important to us, and it continues to be part of who we are. That’s why we’re proud to be a registered Living Wage Employer –ensuring that everyone who works with us is fairly paid. Beyond being the right thing to do, we believe it helps those just entering the industry feel valued and confident, which is so important in the early stages of a career.
For anyone interested in being part of next year's intake, get in touch on jobs@threetenseven.co. You don't need to have gone to Uni or done a foundation. All you need is to show us your enthusiasm and passion for creativity, send us some work and add a cover note explaining why you'd like the opportunity. We’re committed to doing our part in challenging systemic inequalities – whether that’s racism, sexism, or other forms of discrimination –and we’re open-minded about who we work with. So, if you’re excited about what we do but aren’t sure you “tick all the boxes,” we’d encourage you to reach out anyway. You never know where it might lead.
