We were delighted to send our designers, Erik and Baz, to Process 003 on 25th September, part of the Process Events series, hosted locally by the Right Aligned Academy. Process Events is a global platform that invites creatives, thinkers, and makers to “go behind the work,” exploring the stories, challenges, and insights behind real projects. Having taken part in previous installments, we see these gatherings not just as talks, but as an opportunity to dig into how people work, uncover unexpected connections, and strengthen our ties with the Leeds creative community.
The night featured three diverse and fascinating speakers:
Ed Thompson (Doodle Chat CIC)
First, we heard from Ed Thompson, who runs Doodle Chat CIC, a community project dedicated to tackling social isolation in West Leeds. Ed shared a very personal and poignant story about overcoming physical struggles, the subsequent impact on his mental well-being, and how art became his key form of therapy. He also gave insights into his group's funding system, touched on the topic of grief, and discussed his own creative practice, which offers a humorous take on the ongoing climate crisis.
Eve Warren (Creative Director at LOVE)
Next up was Eve Warren, Creative Director at the Manchester-based agency, LOVE. Eve walked us through the studio's recent, high-profile rebrand for Sol, the iconic Mexican beer brand. Beyond her agency work, she shared her involvement in women’s football in Leeds and the story behind her brilliant passion project that grew from it: Forward Play!
Oli Livsey (Motion and 3D Designer at Engage Interactive)
The final speaker was Oli Livsey, a motion and 3D designer at Engage Interactive. Oli spokeabout his personal journey that began as a DJ before he transitioned into the creative industry. His talk focused on his passion for the intersection between motion graphics and music.
It was genuinely insightful to see the diverse and innovative work currently shaping the creative landscape here in Leeds and across the region. Events like this are essential for gaining fresh perspectives – especially in areas like health and wellbeing – and for sparking ideas about potential collaboration. We’re already marking our calendars for the next talk in February 2026!
